The Gonzaga transfer spent 2 seasons with [Wake Forest](https://www.bloggersodear.com) and was the first player to be voted 1st Team All-ACC in back-to-back seasons for the Deacs since Tim Duncan. In 2023-24, Sallis was one of the best scorers in the ACC, leading the Deacs with 18.3 points per game, while shooting 50% from the floor, 42% from beyond the arc, and 80% from the free throw line. He finished the regular season 5th in the ACC in points per game and was first among non-post players in field goal percentage (8th overall). In 2024-25, Sallis again finished 5th in the ACC in scoring with 18.0 points per game and averaged a career best in both rebounding and assists with 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. In his 2 seasons at Wake Forest, the Demon Deacons won 42 total games, marking the first time the Deacs had 20 wins in back-to-back seasons since 2010.
Sallis’s draft stock was likely hurt by his regression from beyond the arc this season (28%), but he has still shown the potential to be an elite 3 level scorer and should be able to work his way into a permanent roster spot somewhere if he can get his 3-point shooting back to what it was his junior season. The 76ers currently have an abundance of young guards in Tyrese Maxey, Jared McCain, Quentin Grimes, and recent 1st round draft pick VJ Edgecombe, so finding playing time in Philly is not going to be easy. The good news is that Sallis will get to play for one of Steve Forbes’s best friends, Nick Nurse.
Congratulations to Sallis!
Go Deacs!
