Many analysts suggested that Milwaukee Bucks select a contingency point guard in the 2025 NBA draft but they used their 47th pick to select a 6’11 forward from Serbia named Bogoljub Marković who assistant GM Milt Newton said they are not sure if is going to get lined-up for the 2025-26 season.
Bogoljub Marković
Milwaukee Bucks assistant general manager Milt Newton told reporters that the Bucks were “crossing their fingers” hoping that Bogoljub Marković would fall to them at No. 47 because they had him ranked higher than that.

The PG suggestions come from the fact that All-Star and second top scorer Damian Lillard will be out for a lengthy period to recover from an ACL injury.
Marković is another developmental project the Bucks selected and reactions to his selection is divided.

They got their point guard anyway as they decided to sign Mark Sears on a two-way contract.

Milwaukee Bucks may have themselves a steal
Scouts and analysts were not that high on Sears. The highest spot he reached on predictions was 45th. Most thought he will go undrafted.
However, his college pedigree is as good as other high prospect. He spent his last three years of college eligibility with the Alabama Crimson Tide and made it to the Consensus first-team All-American last season.
He is currently Division I’s active leader in points with 2,706 and is regarded as a dual threat – a scorer and a playmaker with his 5.1 assists per game in 37 games for Alabama.

Sears is also a hit in the NBA Combine where he shot the lights out by going 26-for-30 on off-dribble mid-range pull-ups (tied for first) according to a report by ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Borzello..
His shooting was on full display: 21-for-25 on spot-up 3s (first); 16-for-25 in the 3-point star drill (tied for 11th); 25-for-27 in the side-mid-side 3-point drill (first).
