According to the Telegraph, Newcastle are targeting an audacious triple swoop for Premier League trio James Trafford, Joao Pedro and Anthony Elanga.
The Tyneside giants are said to be in talks over the £125m move, valuing both Pedro and Elanga at £50m and Trafford at £25m.
While Brighton and Burnley could cash in on Pedro and Trafford, respectively, Nottingham Forest are said to part ways with Elanga.
However, if Newcastle are successful in their mission to recruit the 23-year-old in a £50m deal, United are in line to profit.
Old Trafford chiefs included a sell-on clause in Elanga's contract when he completed a £15m transfer to Forest in 2023.
United will earn 15 per cent of any profit made on top of the £15m fee, meaning a £50m price tag would add £7m to Ruben Amorim's kitty.
The influx of cash could go a long way as the Red Devils attempt to generate transfer funds through player sales.
Amorim's budget is bust beyond Mbeumo's arrival, with no European football on offer in M16 next season after a 15th-place Premier League finish.

United would, of course, be primed to pocket even more from Elanga's sale if Forest's reluctance to sell leads to Newcastle paying a higher fee for the Sweden international.
However, the Telegraph report does add that if Newcastle strike a deal for Pedro before Elanga, or vice versa, they could settle for just one of the attacking targets.
Antony and Sancho currently appear to be the closest United stars to the exit door. Real Betis are vying to sign the former permanently, while Fenerbahce and Juventus race to recruit the latter.
