Two of the top performances of Caleb Love’s Arizona career came in the Pacific Northwest, so it’s fitting the former Wildcats guard would start his NBA journey in Portland.
Love has signed a two-way contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday night. Love went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Arizona’s Caleb Love – one of the most prolific scorers in college basketball – is expected to sign a two-way NBA contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, sources tell ESPN. Love went undrafted and now lands a deal to be on the Blazers’ roster next season.

Love will have a chance to compete for a roster spot on the Trail Blazers, who went 36-46 last season and missed the NBA playoffs. Love joins former Arizona center Deandre Ayton in Portland, and joins a young backcourt that features the likes of Anfernee Simons, Shaedon Sharpe and Scoot Henderson.
Love wasn’t expected to get drafted after not appearing on many mock draft boards. Nevertheless, Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd expressed plenty of confidence that he’ll make the league.
“Caleb is going to be in the NBA next year, 100 percent,” Lloyd said earlier this month.
With Portland, Love will get to play for a former guard who also put up big numbers in college – Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups.
Love averaged 17.2 points as a fifth-year on 39.8% shooting. He shot a career-best 88.9% from the free throw line. He scored over 24 points per game in the NCAA Tournament, including a 29-point performance in Seattle in the Round of 32 against Oregon. Love then scored 35 points in Arizona’s season-ending loss to Duke in the Sweet 16.
In the 2023-24 season, Love dropped a career-high 36 points at Oregon. Love’s senior season was his best statistically as a college player. He averaged 18 points and shot 41.3% overall.
The St. Louis native played his first three seasons at North Carolina. As a sophomore, he helped lead the Tar Heels to the national championship game.
Love will appear with the Trail Blazers Summer League team next month in Las Vegas.
