Man United are continuing to assess strikers

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Man United have a long list of strikers they have shortlisted, having done background work on a lot of forwards.

It is understood that Ruben Amorim wants a number nine, a very specific profile and Benjamin Sesko certainly ticks those boxes but there are other players in the mix as well.

And while United did go for Liam Delap, TBR Football understands that Amorim was not fully convinced, not due to the player’s talent, but more because of his profile and age.

As for Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, there’s no surprise that they’re both in the conversation. United know the striker market well and have done extensive scouting. Both players are fully aware of their interest and while the interest is not advanced at this stage, United are on their radar.

Arsenal are also interested in Gyokeres as well as Sesko, and if the Gunners sign Gyokeres, United could move in for Sesko.

Another name on their radar is Victor Osimhen, who is also linked with Liverpool. TBR Football understands that the Red Devils have done significant work on the Nigerian, and he’s a player they really like.

Osimhen is keen on playing in the Premier League, so he’s someone who can’t be ruled out just yet.

As per TBR Football, United are calm at this stage and are happy with what they have done so far.

Manchester United also keeping an eye on Tolu Arokodare

Another striker on Manchester United’s radar is Genk’s Nigerian star, Tolu Arokodare.

The 24-year-old enjoyed an impressive season in Belgium, scoring 23 goals and providing seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

His prolific form saw him finish as the league’s top scorer, earning the Golden Boot in the Belgian Pro League.

In 108 games for the club, he has scored 40 goals and assisted another 12, taking his overall career tally to 83 goals and 20 assists in 216 games.

TBR Football understands that United scouts have done some background work on him and have liked what they’ve seen. He’s one to watch in the background.
