Fulham will not entertain transfer offers for a key striker this summer despite interest in his services.

Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United look set to end their pursuit of Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz with the Cottagers decisive on their stance not to sell the Brazilian.

Newly promoted Leeds United are said to have already seen one bid rejected by Fulham. The Yorkshire Evening Post claims that the offer sent to west London was £32 million.

That offer was formed of an initial £26 million with a potential of £6 million worth of add-ons. It remains to be seen whether Leeds United increase their offer but the Fulham stance is that no fee will tempt them to sell.

Fulham stance on Rodrigo Muniz transfer confirmed

Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas took to social media platform X on Thursday to provide the latest update. He said: “Understand that, as far as #Fulhamfc are concerned, Rodrigo Muniz is not for sale this summer. He remains an important part of Marco Silva’s squad, amid the interest from #LeedsUtd and others.”

Muniz is entering the last 12 months of his Fulham contract but the club has the option for another 12 months, which puts the London outfit in a strong negotiating position. GIVEMESPORT had also named Tottenham Hotspur as potential suitors for the player as they look to strengthen ahead of a return to the Champions League.

That outlet claimed that Muniz could be open to leaving Craven Cottage but, given his contract situation, the final decision on that will be the club’s. The striker made 36 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring 11 goals.

The forward broke through into the starting XI towards the back end of the 2023/24 campaign, scoring nine goals after the start of February. Muniz was praised by Premier League legend Alan Shearer when emerging.

Alan Shearer praise for Fulham talisman

Shearer told Match of the Day: “He really was a handful. Tough to play against, horrible to play against in fact. That's always a good thing for a centre-forward, that's what you have to be.

"He was strong, he ran the channels, he brought players into the game and he really upset the Bournemouth defenders in every way, in everything he was doing. He was willing to run in behind and on one of the occasions he does it, they get their first goal because of it.

"They [Fulham] got balls into the box for him and he was first to react. He understood the situation and got there first. He was barging defenders out of the way and I really enjoyed his performance. That's what you have to do.

"We haven't seen enough of him because he's been out on loan or injured or whatever it is, but he has got a real opportunity to stake a claim and stay in there [in the team]. He's got to produce that every week now. I mean, they have signed Armando Broja on loan but Muniz has got an opportunity to stay in there if he keeps performing like that."

In other news, Leeds United told to sign Chelsea star who has been transfer listed this summer.
