Joe Gomez would be interested in a move to West Ham if he is allowed to leave Liverpool during the summer transfer window.
That is according to former Man United and West Ham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 28-year-old would welcome the opportunity to play regular football.
Graham Potter is prepared to offer the centre-back a role in his starting XI as he aims to strengthen his defence after a disappointing season at the London Stadium.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that West Ham have joined the race for Gomez alongside the likes of Leeds United and Everton.
The Hammers are now weighing up making an offer for the defender should they be given an indication that he will be allowed to leave Anfield.
However, Football Insider revealed on 23 June that Gomez is happy to stay at Liverpool and has a role to play after Jarell Quansah agreed to join Bayer Leverkusen.

West Ham to step up Joe Gomez chase after Graham Potter verdict
Brown told Football Insider in April that West Ham will prioritise signing a centre-back this summer amid concerns about their defensive frailty under Potter.
The former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted the Hammers will be willing to take a chance on signing Gomez.
“*Joe Gomez would be open to joining West Ham,*” he told Football Insider.
“I hear he’s getting fed up of being the ‘nearly man’ at Liverpool, always on the fringes of the squad but never establishing himself, because it’s been going on for years.
“There are a lot of questions about where he fits there and what his role is going to be.
“I think, if he stays at Liverpool, he’s in danger of falling between the cracks.
“He’s not going to get in the team at right-back with Frimpong and Bradley there, and he’s not going to get in at centre-back ahead of Van Dijk or Konate.
“From his point of view, the time has come for him to move on.
“West Ham are prepared to offer him that opportunity and the chance to be a regular first-team player.
“They’ve always been a good outlet for players like that to go and re-establish their careers.
*“Graham Potter rates him, and there’s no doubt the lad has talent, so they’re willing to take a chance on him to improve their defensive options.*“

Mohammed Kudus update emerges after Newcastle latest
On top of their ambitions to sign Gomez, West Ham are also fearing that they could lose key players including Mohammed Kudus during the transfer window.
Brown told Football Insider on 22 June that Newcastle are interested in signing Kudus but are currently undecided about whether to make a move.
His £85million release clause is also an issue for the Magpies, who would need the Hammers to lower their demands before even considering an offer.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 9 June that Newcastle could negotiate a lower fee for Kudus as they are not prepared to match his release clause.
