Report: 'Incredible' player has now directly told Liverpool he is waiting for Real Madrid to sign him

Liverpool have already managed to dominate the summer transfer window with the likes of Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez being brought in.

It’s clear that Arne Slot is on a mission to make Liverpool one of the best teams in Europe, with the Dutchman targeting players in all different areas of the pitch.

There are still a couple of places in the team that could do with a shake-up, but since we’re less than a month into the window, the moves that the Anfield outfit have made thus far have been pretty impressive.

Of course, there have been multiple players linked with a move to Merseyside that haven’t worked out just yet, including the transfer of an ‘incredible‘ Bundesliga talent.

Angelo Stiller has told Real Madrid that he only wants to move to them

Angelo Stiller was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool at the start of the window.

Over the last few weeks, however, talks around the future of the young German have died down with Liverpool instead focusing on other areas of their team.

However, as per a new report from Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Stiller has seemingly told Liverpool that his ‘ideal destination’ is Real Madrid.

The report outlines that the midfielder is ‘eager to join Real Madrid’ due to the ‘very interesting’ project they’re creating.

At the moment, however, there is ‘no agreement’ between the player and the club but Xabi Alonso is ‘scanning the market’ for any potential new additions.

Liverpool should focus their efforts on other areas of the pitch

One of the main reasons why Liverpool’s interest has likely died down in Stiller is due to the futures of some of their players being decided over the last month or so.

Many expected Liverpool’s midfield to have a massive shake-up with the likes of Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo all expected to leave.

At the moment, however, it only seems like the former of the three is set to exit Anfield with sources close to Endo sharing that he wants to fight for his place at Liverpool.

A selection of Liverpool players and the number of games they played in the 2024-25 season.

And, in Jones’ case, the Reds will still need homegrown players next term otherwise they’ll not be able to register a full squad of 25 in the Premier League and Champions League which would be far from ideal.

Liverpool signing a new striker and centre-back seems to be their main goals for the rest of the summer, which, to be quite frank, makes a lot of sense, especially since players such as Marc Guehi could be available for a cut-rate price.

Only time will tell what the future has in store but for now, it feels like the Reds’ potential move for Stiller is dead in the water.
