Former Arkansas Tech men’s basketball guard Taelon Peter, who transferred to Liberty last offseason, was selected with the 54th overall pick in the NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night.
The redshirt senior from Russellville began his collegiate career at Tennessee Tech before spending three seasons at Arkansas Tech.
In his lone season with Liberty, Peter averaged 13.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1 assist per game. Peter shot 43.9% from the three-point line and shot 76% on two-point shots.
Peter and Liberty won the Conference USA Tournament this season to advance to the NCAA Tournament, where they were eliminated by Oregon.
The Pacers won the Eastern Conference Finals and were the NBA Finals runners up, falling in a seven-game series to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
