Chelsea face Portuguese side Benfica in the last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday.
The Blues finished second in Group D, beating LAFC and ES Tunis either side of a defeat against eventual group winners Flamengo.
Enzo Maresca will expect to see his side progress past Benfica, although the Lisbon giants did defeat German champions Bayern Munich in their final group stage match and will undoubtedly provide a stern test for the Blues.
In the meantime, it has emerged that the West London side are monitoring a Liverpool player.
As reported by CaughtOffside, Chelsea are one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on Reds midfielder Harvey Elliott.
The report claims that the Europa Conference League winners are interested in the midfielder, however Brighton and Hove Albion are currently showing the keenest interest in the player.

Elliott, 22, joined Liverpool from Fulham back in 2019 and has since played 147 times for the club across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and registering 20 assists.
Last term the versatile midfielder featured in 18 of Liverpool’s 38 Premier League matches as they cruised to the top flight title.
The midfielder – who is currently on international duty with England at the Under-21 European Championships – has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Anfield, and the report claims that he is open to the idea of a move this summer.
Elliott’s current contract with the Premier League champions is set to run until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, and it is claimed that the club would demand a fee of around £50 million to let the Englishman depart.
Fellow Premier League sides Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also said to be monitoring the ex-Blackburn Rovers loanee, while German side Borussia Dortmund – where several young English players have flourished in recent seasons – are also credited with an interest.
