Leeds United are preparing a move to sign Juventus forward Timothy Weah this summer.

Following the Elland Road arrivals of Lukas Nmecha and Jaka Bijol, Leeds are well underway in their attempts to secure reinforcements, in a bid to achieve Premier League survival.

Of course, doing so is a remarkably difficult task, with all six of the last promoted teams dropping straight back down into the Championship, though recruitment will play a deciding role as to whether the same fate awaits Leeds this season.

The Whites simply need to get that aspect of the summer right, and after the latest update on Weah, it seems as though they will be.

Recruitment and ambition are the two buzzwords of the summer, and for Leeds, it seems as though they are prepared to showcase the latter ahead of their return to the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest had also made an approach to sign the forward, but Weah rejected that proposal, with Leeds and Everton now among those chasing his signature.

Weah has featured 44 times for the USMNT and made 43 appearances for the Serie A giants last season, though his time in Italy appears to be coming to an end.

Farke needs to be backed well this summer

While at this stage it is only a link, it certainly suggests that Leeds are going to show some serious ambition this summer when it comes to the transfers they agree on, and that will be needed.

If Leeds are to have a chance of staying up, they need to use their stature in English football to their own advantage, to bring some top-level talent to Elland Road.

With two signings through the door, and many more expected, it is shaping up to be a hectic few weeks, with pre-season due to get underway.
