Chelsea and Manchester City have both progressed into the knockout phase of the Club World Cup. The pair of Premier League sides each finished in the top two of their respective groups, earning them a place in the competition's last 16.

City put five past Juventus on Thursday to book their spot, having won all three games in Group G. Pep Guardiola's men scored a massive 13 goals, conceding just two.

Chelsea, on the other hand, had to settle for second place in Group D. The Blues suffered a 3-0 loss to Flamengo which means that they're unseeded in the knockouts.

Their next opponents - at 9pm this Sunday, June 30 - will be Portuguese giants Benfica, who topped Group C ahead of Bayern Munich and are yet to lose a match at the tournament. The match will be played at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Should they advance, Chelsea will come up against one of two Brazilian sides, Palmeiras or Botafogo, in the quarter-final stage. Enzo Maresca's teams would be in action at 2am on Saturday, July 5 at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

In the semi-finals, we could see an all-Premier League clash between Chelsea and City. The Blues' other potential opponents include Al-Hilal, Fluminense and Inter Milan.

As for City, they'll face Group H runners-up and Saudi Arabian heavyweights Al-Hilal, who drew with Real Madrid in their opening game, in their round of 16 clash. That contest is being held at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida and kicks off at 2am next Tuesday, July 2.

Should they win, Guardiola and Co. would play either Fluminense or Inter in the quarter-finals at the same venue at 8pm on Friday, July 4. In the semi-finals, Chelsea, Benfica, Botafogo or Palmeiras are their potential opponents.

That fixture is scheduled for 8pm on Tuesday, July 8 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The final also takes place there on Sunday, July 13, kick-off 8pm.
