German media concerned one club could lose two players after Leeds United come calling

Leeds United are beginning to make serious moves in the market, and with Junior Firpo’s exit, they need to move quicker.

An announcement for Junior Firpo joining Real Betis is surely in the works, with the left-back on his way out of Elland Road.

Daniel Farke will be sad to lose the defender who contributed to 14 goals last season, but Farke and the 49ers must look forward.

The reality is beginning to set in after Firpo was spotted with a Marc Roca shirt, as the two will reunite in Spain.

But luckily for Farke, they have guaranteed options on the table, and the media in Germany are getting concerned by Leeds’ pursuit.

With Firpo being an integral part of Leeds’ title triumph last campaign, the candidate to replace him will have to be perfect.

It’s been said recently to LeedsUnited.News that Leeds have watched Lukas Ullrich from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The left-back is in high demand with Tottenham also keen, but that isn’t the only player the Whites could look to sign from Gladbach.

With Farke’s connections at the club from his time there last year, it was reported that Luca Netz was also a target for Leeds.

Although it’s unlikely that both players would end up making the move to Yorkshire, BILD have stated something which gives the 49ers no reason to panic with Firpo’s exit, as both players from Gladbach could be an option this summer.

Bild say: “It cannot be ruled out that Gladbach may even end up losing both left-backs as a result: Netz, because he no longer believes in his prospects in the Bundesliga, and Ullrich, because Gladbach can no longer turn down offers from England once they reach a certain size.”

Whether Lukas Ullrich or Luca Netz would be better for Leeds

Farke knows Netz well from their time in Germany, which gives every reason why the Whites can reignite their interest now that it’s likely the 22-year-old could leave.

It’s been deemed that Netz would be the perfect Firpo successor, and he’s certainly shown that promise in the Bundesliga with Gladbach.

But Ullrich is arguably showing more promise, and out of the two options, his transfer looks more viable at this moment in time due to heavy interest.

With both players already fighting over the left-back spot in Germany, this is how they compare, giving Farke a tough choice to make.

Although Netz is ‘very exciting’ and Farke’s connection with him is there for all to see, Ullrich’s deal is looking much more plausible at this moment.
