This week, the Italian press has aggressively covered Napoli’s interest in Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez.
Attempts have been ongoing from the Italian champions to reduce the Reds’ asking price for the Uruguayan, who is attracted by the idea of playing under Antonio Conte at the Serie A champions.
There’s been optimism throughout the Italian media that Nunez can make a big impact at Napoli, with claims he could even replicate what compatriot Edinson Cavani did in Naples.
Napoli are now said to be going ‘full steam ahead’ for the striker and are not willing to give up their chase for the Liverpool player.
Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli have reported today that despite having reached an agreement with Udinese for Lorenzo Lucca, Napoli have decided to firmly pursue a move for Nunez instead.
This comes after reports had spoken about a move for Lucca being close. Conte’s side have had a host of attacking options on the table and the shortlist also includes Jadon Sancho, Federico Chiesa and Dan Ndoye.
Nunez is the priority, with a move for PSV Eindhoven’s Noa Lang also going in the right direction.
Kiss Kiss Napoli used to be the Serie A club’s official radio station, and despite the questionable name they’re very well connected at Napoli.
