Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Liverpool's move to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter.
The Reds are looking to strengthen their squad this summer after being crowned Premier League champions in Arne Slot's first season in charge, and have already broken their transfer record for what they've spent so far on Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
But the club are not done yet and would like to add a striker to the squad, which has led to reports that the Anfield club are looking to bring in Sporting star Gyokeres.

Liverpool have made Newcastle star Alexander Isak their dream target for the striker position, but a deal for the Sweden international seems unrealistic currently as the Magpies are refusing to sell.
Reports recently have suggested that the club have switched their attentions to his international teammate instead, but Romano has revealed that he has not been informed of any ongoing contacts and the striker, who has been described as 'game-changing', is still prioritising a move to Arsenal this summer.
"I’m not aware of contacts ongoing for Gyokeres at this stage. His priority now is Arsenal, then we will see later in the window."
Ggyokeres, who has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for the Portuguese side, is expected to leave the club this summer after a public fall-out with the president as he feels they have gone back on their gentleman's agreement of allowing him to leave for a cheaper fee.
That has seen a move to Arsenal stall so far, while Manchester United are also said to be in the race for the former Coventry star owing to his relationship with manager Ruben Amorim.
But while Liverpool are in the market for a striker, their attentions seem to be elsewhere currently, and a move for Gyokeres is not currently on the cards despite recent reports.
