Bryan Mbeumo celebrates after scoring for Brentford.
Bryan Mbeumo is poised to join Manchester United.
After recording a goal difference of -10 in the Premier League last season, Manchester United had no choice but to prioritise strengthening their attack this summer.
After wrapping up the signing of from Wolves for £62.5million just over a fortnight ago, .
Should United add Mbeumo to pool of attacking options, he will become their second statement signing of the summer. Between them, Cunha and got 35 goals in the Premier League last season.
United scored just 44 league goals as a collective last term and they remain hungry to sign an out-and-out striker.
With the start of the new Premier League season now less than 50 days away, it will be here before we know it, meaning United will be determined to finalise their squad ahead of the big kick-off. It means plenty of work is still to be done, particularly in the attacking department.
With that in mind, MEN Sport has had a look at what United need to do between now the start of the campaign to try and assemble an ideal pool of attacking options for Amorim.
Incomings:
With Cunha already signed, Mbeumo is expected to be the next new face through the door. United are closing in on his signature and it feels as though it will only be a matter of time before he arrives at Old Trafford.
Once Mbeumo is through the door, focus must switch to signing a No.9. After missing out on Liam Delap, it remains to be seen who United will turn to in their search for a goal-getter.
They desperately need a proven and reliable goalscorer this summer, meaning ongoing links with the likes of and Victor Osimhen make perfect sense. Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike is also under consideration.

However, United do not have unlimited funds available, meaning sales are set to dictate what is achievable. They also want to sign a midfielder and a goalkeeper this summer.
Outgoings:
As far as outgoings are concerned, United plan to oversee a cluster of them from the attacking department. As reported by the Manchester Evening News last month, , Jadon Sancho and have been identified as priority sales.
Rashford is valued at £40m, Antony is available for £32.58m and Sancho is valued at somewhere in the region of £20m-£25m. Offloading each of them, however, is already shaping up to be an easier-said-than-done task, particularly in the cases of Rashford and Sancho due to their salary demands.
Fellow winger Alejandro Garnacho is also expected to leave after . Napoli had a bid of £40m turned down for the Argentine in January, meaning somewhere north of £50m is likely to be United's valuation of the 20-year-old.
and has most recently been linked with Napoli. Hojlund regressed in his second season at Old Trafford, scoring just ten goals, and he could be moved on to free up vital funds.
The overall picture:
If United oversee the aforementioned incomings and outgoings, their attack will have a more rounded and healthier look to it. Cunha is a natural fit for Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system and Mbeumo is versatile enough to operate as the right-sided No.10, the right wing-back or as the centre-forward.

The addition of a striker, whoever it proves to be, is a necessity, and the chosen candidate will be installed as the club's starting No.9. Competition would come from Mbeumo (if signed), possibly Cunha, who can operate as a striker, and Chido Obi.
Joshua Zirkzee, he is an option to play as one of the two No.10s, likewise Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes, Cunha, Mbeumo and Amad, meaning Amorim will not be short of options.
United's dream attacking options:
No.10s: Amad, Mbeumo, Mount, Mainoo, Fernandes, Cunha, Zirkzee.
No.9s: New striker, Obi, Mbeumo, Cunha.
