How Nicolas Jackson feels about leaving Chelsea after Club World Cup red card backlash - journalist

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has not been too popular with Blues fans in recent weeks as a result of his conduct on the pitch in some crucial games.

The Senegal international was sent off just four minutes into their Club World Cup group stage game against Flamengo, which they ended up losing 3-1 and falling to second in the group.

Jackson’s original one-game ban was upgraded to two games due to the severity of the incident. He is currently serving suspensions in two different competitions.

He will be banned for the first Premier League game of the new season after a sending off against Newcastle late last season, giving Liam Delap a clear run to convince Enzo Maresca he should be the club’s new starting striker.

Nicolas Jackson’s thoughts on leaving Chelsea this summer

The Englishman is already putting pressure on Jackson for the number nine spot in the side. He scored a fine first goal for the club in their last outing against ES Tunis.

Despite the difficult situation currently facing the 24-year-old, it looks as if he is solely focused on turning things around at Stamford Bridge.

Journalist Rahman Osman has claimed that the striker is not thinking about leaving Chelsea at this stage.

He said: “Nicolas Jackson has no intentions of leaving Chelsea anytime soon.”

Jackson linked with move away from Chelsea

Despite his personal ambitions to succeed at Chelsea, there are reports breaking that Jackson’s place at the club is not as secure as it was a few months ago.

Maresca has less confidence in Jackson of late, with him clearly not learning his lesson from the red card against Newcastle.

Chelsea have set a high price tag on Jackson, potentially scaring off interest from Serie A clubs who will be unable to afford him.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Jackson this summer, however will have to stump up a very large amount of money in order to prise him away from Stamford Bridge.
