Andrew Carr signs NBA deal as undrafted free agent

Former Kentucky power forward Andrew Carr has signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Portland Trailblazers as an undrafted free agent, according to ESPN's Jonathan Givony.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a 1-year minimum non-guaranteed deal that can also include a bonus for the player if they are waived by the NBA team and then sign with the team's G League affiliate. If the player stays with the G League team for at least 60 days, they earn the bonus, which typically ranges from $5,000 to $75,000.

Carr becomes the second Wildcat to sign with an NBA team as an undrafted free agent, joining Lamont Butler, who signed a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks.

UK teammates Koby Brea (Golden State Warriors traded to Phoenix Suns) and Amari Williams (Orlando Magic traded to Boston Celtics) became the first draft picks of the Mark Pope era at Kentucky after each were selected in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn Thursday night.

Since 2010, no school has produced more total NBA Draft picks (51) than Kentucky. Since the NBA went to a two-round draft in 1989, the Wildcats now have the most players drafted overall with 67, 48 of which have come in the first round.

UK has also had at least one player selected in 18 consecutive NBA Drafts, the longest active streak of any school. Prior to 2025, Kentucky had a first round pick in 15 straight drafts, the longest streak in the common era. The Cats have also produced multiple draft picks in 16 consecutive drafts.

A transfer from Wake Forest, Carr averaged 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while starting 29 of the 35 games in which he appeared for the Wildcats this season despite being hampered by back spasms for much of the season.

He scored in double figures in 21 games while also recording three double-doubles. Carr scored 17 points in a win over No. 6 Duke in the Champions Classic; 18 points and 10 rebounds in a home win over Western Kentucky; 19 points and seven rebounds in a win over No. 7 Gonzaga; 14 points and five assists in a win over No. 6 and eventual national champion Florida; 17 points in a loss at No. 4 Alabama; a season-high 20 points in a loss to No. 1 Auburn; and 18 in a loss to No. 5 Alabama in the SEC Tournament.

Carr, who previously spent two seasons at Delaware and then two at Wake Forest, was ranked as the No. 67 overall transfer in the portal by 247Sports last offseason.
