For Liverpool fans who wanted a bit of a breather from transfer news after the Milos Kerkez announcement , it seems that the club has other plans.
The Merseyside giants raced into the transfer window by activating the €35 million release clause to bring in Netherlands international Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen on a six-year contract – a move valued at £29.5 million.
Not content with shoring up both flanks, they then smashed the British transfer record to secure German playmaker Florian Wirtz for £116 million, making him the most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history.
But it seems the club are not resting on their laurels.
Football Insider has reported that Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Blackpool’s highly rated academy prospect Gabriel Schluter for a six-figure fee, with the 16-year-old set to undergo a medical on Merseyside next week.

Schluter operates primarily as a left-sided midfielder or winger.
Standing at 1.78 m and comfortable on his right foot, he has progressed strongly through Blackpool’s youth ranks in recent years.
He was the under-15 Players’ Player of the Year in 2023/24.
In November 2024, he scored twice in the FA Youth Cup against Stockport County.

Later that month, he made his senior debut in an EFL Trophy fixture against Liverpool Under-21s at Bloomfield Road, coming off the bench.
According to the report, Fulham and Stockport County both explored offers to bolster their youth setups, but it is the Reds who have now secured the signing.
He is expected to be part of the youth setup on Merseyside and may even feature for the U21 side who have a new manager in Rob Page – formerly the head coach of the Wales national team.
