Manchester United now face an uphill task in trying to bring one striker to Old Trafford amid the uncertainty around Rasmus Hojlund, according to reports.
Rasmus Hojlund struggled to impress in his second full season at Old Trafford and question marks have been raised over the 22-year-old Danish forward’s future.
The Manchester United striker only scored 10 times and registered four assists in 52 matches across all competitions for the Red Devils in the 2024-25 campaign.
Ruben Amorim was left frustrated at times over his side’s lack of clinical finishing, with United striker Joshua Zirkzee equally underwhelming in his debut season.
Joshua Zirkzee, who arrived at Old Trafford from Serie A side Bologna last summer, found the back of the net only seven times in 49 matches for United last season.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with signing a new striker, with Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres and Napoli star Victor Osimhen both being namechecked.

Man Utd are one of three Premier League clubs linked with signing Newcastle striker Alexander Isak
Rasmus Hojlund has been linked with Inter Milan in recent weeks and the Denmark international could be offloaded from Old Trafford if a new striker arrives at the club.
Alexander Isak enjoyed a superb season with Newcastle and the 25-year-old Swedish striker played a key part in the Magpies sealing Champions League football.
Newcastle finished fifth in the Premier League table in the 2024-25 campaign and Alexander Isak scored an impressive 23 times in 34 league matches for his side.
The Newcastle star netted 27 times across all competitions in 42 matches for Newcastle and Isak is an important part of Eddie Howe’s plans at St James’ Park.
However, Isak’s future at the Premier League club remains uncertain and Tutto Juve reports that the striker is ‘attracting the attention’ of United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Newcastle’s transfer strategy over Alexander Isak amid the Premier League interest from Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal
Alexander Isak is under contract at St James’ Park until 2028 and the Magpies are keen for the Sweden international to commit his long-term future to the club.
It is believed Newcastle will play hardball over any negotiation for Eddie Howe’s prized talisman and will fend off the fierce interest around Isak this summer.
According to reports, the Magpies have slapped an eye-watering £150m price tag on Isak amid the likes of United, Chelsea and Arsenal being linked with the striker.
Tutto Juve added that Newcastle are ‘ready to lock down’ the United-linked player and are looking to offer Isak a ‘long-term contract renewal proposal.’
The outlet added that Newcastle’s objective is ‘clear’ to ‘block the interest’ of Premier League clubs by putting an offer forward to make Isak their highest-paid player.
It is believed that the Magpies’ offer would be a ‘record salary,’ putting Isak ahead of any other player in the club’s long history in terms of money earned from a contract.
