**While Newcastle United hunt desperately for a top-quality right-winger, one of their own wingers is being eyed by Arsenal.**
After having to endure the insufferable links of Alexander Isak to Arsenal for a large chunk of last season, the Gunners finally admitted defeat on that front, only for Liverpool to take their place.
Meanwhile, it doesn't look like we're done with Arsenal quite yet, as several sources have told BBC journalist Sami Mokbel that the Gunners are very keen on Newcastle's Anthony Gordon.
Since arriving on Tyneside for [£45 million from Everton](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64441380), Anthony Gordon has become a key figure in Newcastle's success and has also cemented his place in the England squad along the way.
Anthony Gordon is a massively important player to Newcastle
-----------------------------------------------------------
In the 2023/24 season, Anthony Gordon seemed unstoppable for the Magpies, while last season he seemed to be off his game for much of the season, although he did still rack up nine goals and seven assists.
Form is temporary and class is permanent, as they say, so his slightly below par season hasn't put off the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, who are both said to be keen on the 24-year-old.
Newcastle have no intention of selling any of their top players this summer, so a deal is unlikely, but just to be sure, it has been reported that Newcastle have slapped a £100m price tag on the England star.
Arsenal are aware that a deal for Anthony Gordon will not be easy
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Despite all of this, Mokbel told the Latte Firm YouTube channel that Arsenal remain keen, however, he did note that it would be a difficult deal to do.
> "I think Anthony Gordon is another one that they have an interest in. Again, I've had that from a very good source, and I've had that kind of backed up as well by other good sources. But he just signed a new contract at Newcastle towards the start of last season, so that, again, will be difficult.

> "And I think if Newcastle were to sell one of their crown jewels this summer, that whole project almost falls apart. They've made the Champions League. They've won that trophy they desperately wanted. For them to then go and sell one of their best players, it doesn't make sense."
We fully expect Anthony Gordon to be revitalised next season. We've got no idea what had him so off his game last year, but if we were to guess, we suspect it's the fact that the lad hasn't ahd a proper break in three seasons. Thankfully, with no international tournament to play in this year, Gordon will have had time to unwind before returning to training a week on Monday.
