Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri to leave NBA club: report

Toronto Raptors President Masai Ujiri and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) have decided to part ways, according to published reports.

ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania was the first to report the news on Friday.

Ujiri, who joined the Raptors as the team’s general manager in 2014 before becoming team president two years later, was entering the final year of his contract as Vice Chairman and President of the NBA franchise.

Ujiri is the second high-ranking executive within MLSE to leave the organization in the last month. The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on May 22 that they had parted ways with team president Brendan Shanahan after another disappointing playoff ouster.
