The latest Manchester United news as we take a look at the latest on the future of Marcus Rashford.

Marcus Rashford is expected to complete a transfer away from Manchester United this summer.
A name who continues to be talked about a lot during the current summer transfer window is Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
The forward is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, having spent the second half of last season on loan with Aston Villa. Unai Emery’s men do have the option to make the move permanent for a £40million fee, but that move now seems unlikely.
The £40million asking price is also open to other clubs as United look to move the player on and raise funds. Any money made on the transfer would go down as pure profit in terms of PSR for the club, given that Rashford is an academy graduate.
Here is the latest on what is being said around his future and a move away from United.
Newcastle decision
Newcastle United were one of the teams linked with an interest in the United forward this summer, but the Sun reports that the Magpies have no plans to pursue the signing.
The club are instead chasing deals for former United winger Anthony Elanga and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Joao Pedro. Newcastle saw a first bid for Elanga turned down by Nottingham Forest but are reportedly readying a new £50million offer.
Barcelona compromise
Barcelona remain keen on a move for Rashford this summer, even if they do sign Nico Williams, according to the Guardian.
The report says that Barca value Rashford’s ability to operate both out wide and in a more central role. It is, however, said that the Catalan club are looking for a loan deal.
That could potentially see them pay a loan fee to United. However, it is said that the club may be forced to have to contribute to paying a proportion of the forward’s £370,000 per-week salary if a move can be agreed.
Exit pathway cleared
A move to Barcelona for Rashford may be cleared with Ansu Fati closing in on a transfer to Monaco. The 22-year-old is expected to join the French side on a loan deal from Barcelona, meaning that Rashford would have less competition for places on the left wing.
Ansu Fati has been spotted arriving at an airport with claim that he is set to travel to France to complete his loan move.
