Liverpool's Luis Diaz has reportedly been spotted with Barcelona's Dani Olmo in Ibiza during the summer break, amidst growing speculation about the 28-year-old's future at Anfield and known interest from the Spanish giants.
Diaz concluded his recent season with Liverpool by participating in the Premier League title-winning festivities that took place after the final match of the season, culminating in the open-top bus parade on Monday, May 26. Following the celebrations, the winger flew back to his native Colombia to compete in June's World Cup qualifiers before kicking off his summer break.
During this time, there has been escalating transfer rumors, with Liverpool fending off Barcelona's expressed interest. Adding a twist to the tale, Diaz has now been photographed with a player from the very club showing interest in him.
Toque Sports on X, previously known as Twitter, shared an image of Diaz alongside Spanish international Olmo, who was Barcelona's high-profile signing of 2024. He was also linked with Liverpool during last summer's transfer window.
They assert that the photo is recent and was taken on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza. Supporting their claim, Diaz's newly lightened hair colour appears to match that in a picture he posted on Instagram just a day ago.
Prior to this, the No. 7 had shared several photos on June 16 and 17 from his wedding to partner Gera Ponce, where he sported his natural black hair.
Having rebuffed Barca's approach, Diaz is not on the list of players the Reds are keen to offload this summer. Despite his contract running out in two years, there appears to be no urgency from the club to address the situation presently.
Speaking during the recent international break, Diaz played down talk of leaving Liverpool but did suggest there was interest from elsewhere.
"I'm very happy at Liverpool, I've always said so. They've welcomed me very well from day one," he expressed.
"We are currently in contact with Liverpool, because we are talking to clubs, and that's normal given the transfer market that's opening. We're trying to arrange what's best for us," he went on to say.
"We're talking to clubs, it's normal in the market and we're looking at what's best for us.
"I'm waiting to see what happens. If they (Liverpool) give us a good renewal or I stay there for two years, I'll be happy. Now it's up to them."
