John Madden is one of the most iconic figures in football history because he had three different football careers.
He was a Super Bowl winning head coach of the Raiders. He was a longtime announcer and he was the face of the biggest sports video game franchise of all-time.
A new book will be released in September that chronicles Madden’s broadcasting life with his longtime partner Pat Summerall. Lyons Press is releasing “Madden & Summerall: How they revolutionized NFL Broadcasting.” It was written by Rich Podolsky and Joe Buck and Troy Aikman wrote the forward.
This should be a fascinating read on the two most influential (and best, in my opinion) football announcers of all-time
