Manchester United may well have just had a major barrier put in their way to completing their summer transfer plans, courtesy of Napoli.
The Red Devils are attempting to completely rebuild their squad this summer, planning for Ruben Amorim’s first full season in charge.
As such, Matheus Cunha has been signed, with Bryan Mbeumo soon to follow as two new members of the club’s attacking trio.
However, United are still looking to recruit a striker, a wing-back, a midfielder and a goalkeeper this summer.
Unfortunately, the club will need to make sales to be able to sign any new talent this summer.
As such, the Red Devils have four high-profile attackers they’re looking to offload to generate funds and create capacity in the squad in the form of Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Marcus Rashford.
Since the winter transfer window, Napoli have been linked with both Garnacho and Sancho in their pursuit of a left-winger to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who joined PSG.

However, Fabrizio Romano has now reported that the Italian champions have agreed personal terms with PSV Eindhoven winger Noa Lang.
It’s understood that Lang has informed the Eredivisie side that he’s keen to join Napoli, set to earn a massive £2.4 million per season until 2030.
Now the two sides are set to begin negotiations with PSV wanting a fee of £30 million plus a sell-on clause of 10% for future sales.
With Napoli pushing now to sign Lang, it confirms the recent reports that the Serie A side are no longer interested in Garnacho or Sancho, forcing United to have to look elsewhere for suitors.
This is a major shift as Napoli held the longest known interest of any suitors of Garnacho and were one of only a few clubs interested in Sancho.
As such, this one one less major club interested in either, lessening any pressure on those clubs still in the race for the departing duo.
