Brentford have now appointed their new manager.
An interesting choice as the new man is the club’s set-piece coach, Keith Andrews.
Brentford have built a reputation for thinking outside the box, making decisions against the flow, such as when Thomas Frank originally got the job.
Whenever Thomas Frank did move on, the Bees were always going to have a massive challenge on their hands to maintain this punching above their weight position of recent seasons.
This is now even more so for the club and the promoted Keith Andrews, as Frank’s departure is maybe predictably coinciding with a bit of a dismantling of the team he built.
Mark Flekken has moved to Bayer Leverkusen, midfielder and captain Christian Norgaard is set for Arsenal, whilst Bryan Mbeumo looks set to leave as well. The fear for Brentford fans must be that the more first choice players who leave, the more likely others will be considering doing the same.
