Wilfred Ndidi could be set to join Everton after eight and a half years at Leicester.
Ndidi joined Leicester in January 2017 and has gone on to make over 300 appearances for the Foxes.
Everton looked poised to sign the 28-year-old on a free transfer last summer, but the Nigeria international eventually opted to extend his stay with Leicester, signing a new three-year contract.
David Moyes is keen to reignite the Toffees’ interest in Ndidi and looks set to make progress following recent developments.

Ndidi is available for just £9million following Leicester’s relegation
As reported by talkSPORT (24 June), Leicester’s relegation to the Championship is understood to have triggered a £9million release clause in Ndidi’s contract at the King Power Stadium.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
The defensive midfielder remained with the Foxes after they were relegated in 2023, but his loyalty is expected to be firmly tested by the Toffees this time around.

Domestic Cups 2 1 – 130′
Ndidi’s statistics for Leicester (2024/25)
Despite not reaching the same heights as in previous seasons, Ndidi still has a lot to offer Everton, who will have to contend with interest from Manchester United and Saudi Arabia.
Ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that personal terms wouldn’t be a problem for Everton, but believes the former Genk player would demand exorbitant wages.
“This move could make sense for Everton,” King said.
“As for Ndidi, he would obviously prefer to play in the Premier League than the Championship. I think he could fit the bill and do a job in midfield for Moyes.
“I wouldn’t think personal terms would be an issue. If Everton want players to join them, they’re going to need to match the wages other Premier League clubs are offering. Therefore, Ndidi is in the driving seat, and the going rate seems to be quite exorbitant.”

Everton never replaced Amadou Onana
Everton’s financial issues meant that they were forced to sell Amadou Onana to Aston Villa last summer, but they did not have the means to adequately replace the Belgian midfielder.
Tim Iroegbunam’s arrival in the opposite direction has not gone according to plan, while Idrissa Gueye is yet to agree a deal to extend his stay on Merseyside.
It has left Everton light in the centre of the park, and Ndidi’s arrival would help plug that gap.
Should Moyes manage to get the best out of the experienced Premier League defensive midfielder, the Toffees could finally be on their way to replace the void left by Onana’s untimely departure.
