Bryan Mbeumo's essential first step under Ruben Amorim is establishing 'telepathic connection' with two Man Utd stars – …

Bryan Mbeumo appears destined for a move to Manchester United and the Brentford star cannot waste any time crossing paths with two of Ruben Amorim’s key players.

Ruben Amorim has seen his first major summer signing of the window arrive after Manchester United’s acquisition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves for a £62.5m fee.

Matheus Cunha was announced as a United player earlier this month and the Red Devils are expected to bring in further attacking-based signings this summer.

Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with United in recent weeks and the 25-year-old French-born winger is tipped to leave the Gtech Community Stadium this summer.

United tabled an initial £45m bid, including a further £10m in add-ons, to sign Mbeumo from Brentford this summer, but the Bees rejected the approach.

The Red Devils have since come back with another offer and United have tabled an improved bid of more than £60m to sign the Cameroon and Brentford star.

Why Ruben Amorim must ensure an early introduction between Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo and Man Utd defender Diogo Dalot

Manchester United are not alone in their interest in signing Bryan Mbeumo and Tottenham have emerged as potential rivals in the race to land the player.

Spurs’ position strengthened in signing Brentford ace Mbeumo after the appointment of ex-Brentford boss Thomas Frank as Tottenham manager this summer.

However, United remain the firm favourites to land Mbeumo and the Bees could offload the Cameroon international if the right offer is made from the Red Devils.

Mbeumo would likely play as the right-sided No 10 in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system for United and the Brentford attacker will have to step up and adapt.

If the Brentford winger is out on the right, Amorim cannot waste any time seeing if there is a ‘connection’ between Mbeumo and Diogo Dalot in his system.

Amorim has preferred United defender Diogo Dalot as his main choice for the right wing-back role, but the Portuguese full-back still has a lot to prove in that role.

The 40-year-old United manager will no doubt need to integrate Mbeumo into his tactics, but it starts with whether or not Dalot can ‘complement’ him on the right side.

Noussair Mazraoui could be the alternative for Ruben Amorim if Diogo Dalot fails to work with Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo

Noussair Mazraoui impressed with his versatility last season and the former Ajax and Bayern Munich star is more than capable of playing on either flank for United.

Amorim has used the 27-year-old Morocco international in his three-man backline as well, but Noussair Mazraoui might need to return back out to the right flank for Mbeumo.

Mbeumo’s role will be essential in improving United’s attacking output in the 2025-26 season at Old Trafford after a lacklustre 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

The Red Devils need to establish a ‘telepathic connection’ between Mbeumo and the right wing-back and Mazraoui could step up for that role if Dalot fails to do that.

Patrick Dorgu will likely remain out on the left side, despite being able to play out on the right, but Dalot’s future could hinge on his connection with Brentford ace Mbeumo.
