McMillian joining Golden State Warriors this summer

LUBBOCK – Chance McMillian will be returning to his hometown and joining the Golden State Warriors after agreeing to an Exhibit 10 contract and Summer League invite. McMillian is set to play this summer with the Warriors who are hosting the seventh annual California Classic Summer League at Chase Center on July 5, 6 and 8, featuring three days of game play between the Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. His opportunity continues at NBA 2K26 Summer League which returns to Las Vegas and features all 30 NBA teams from July 10-20, 2025 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada.

"I'm beyond excited for the opportunity to play with the Golden State Warriors my hometown team and the one I grew up watching," McMillian said. "It's a dream come true to suit up for the squad I've always looked up to. It's crazy to think I'm a part of Dub Nation now."

McMillian earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors as a senior after averaging 14.2 points per game and finishing the season by making 71-of-164 (43.3 percent) of his 3-point shots. A Vallejo, California native, McMillian played two seasons at Tech after starting his college career with three seasons at Grand Canyon. In two seasons with the Red Raiders, McMillian made 136 3-pointers and helped the team to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. He scored a career-high 27 points at Oklahoma and made eight 3-pointers at Butler in his first season at Tech in a reserve role. As a senior, he started 30 games, was named to the NABC Gulf All-District Team and helped the Red Raiders reach the Elite Eight. He finished his college career scoring 1,467 points and was 245-for-600 (40.8 percent) from deep.

Exhibit 10 contracts allow teams to add to their rosters to compete in Summer League and join their G-League affiliate. If a player on an Exhibit 10 contract is kept on the 15-man roster past the start of the regular season, his contract becomes a standard minimum deal.
