49ers Enterprises, who own Leeds United, completed a takeover of Rangers this year. According to the ownership, the time and resources will be spent equally.
Recently, Rangers fans had some concerns after UEFA investigated Crystal Palace’s Europa League qualification. Palace and Lyon share owners, which in some cases, violates UEFA law. The governing body is now set to give a ruling on the incident.

Now the conversation has shifted. Talksport pundit Simon Jordan is now worried that Rangers could become a feeder club to the Premier League side:
“Is it a legitimate concern to say, of the two, the bigger economically is Leeds United, not because it’s a bigger club than Rangers, but because it’s in a bigger league, and the revenues that Leeds United will generate if they stay in the Premier League will dwarf that of Rangers.
“So, there’s not an unreasonable thought process to say that if you find some talent at Rangers, it will find its way somewhere down the line to Leeds United if their opportunity was in the Premier League and to push and kick on to be a top six side.”
The 49ers have full ownership of Leeds, but just have a 51% stake in Rangers.
Rangers will not become a feeder club
Paraag Marathe explained the difference between what 49ers are doing, and multi-club ownership:
“It would be a disservice to Leeds and Rangers to consider one a feeder club to the other,” he said. “Consider them both closed-loop universes that deserve proper attention and nurture and care. We will designate and assign resources approximately.”
No need for Rangers and Leeds fans to be worried. The ownership are ambitious and intent on running both clubs to become the best versions available.
