Aston Villa negotiating exit with club – May have to make concessions

RB Leipzig and Aston Villa are currently in contact regarding a permanent transfer for Kosta Nedeljkovic.

That’s according to journalist Philipp Hinze, who reports that the Bundesliga side would like to keep the 19-year-old permanently.

Nedeljkovic joined Leipzig on loan in the second half of this season and the deal includes a purchase option. Leipzig have been holding off on paying that though, weighing up a deal over this month.

Hinze now reports that they would like to avoid paying the purchase clause, which is €10.5m plus €4.5m. They want to know if Aston Villa would agree to a lower price or sell under different conditions.

They are working on a solution as they would like to keep the Serbian, albeit without paying the purchase clause that they previously agreed with Aston Villa.

It is very much in Aston Villa’s hands at this moment in time, with a deal there to be done with Leipzig if they accept new payment terms or even a lower amount to sell Nedeljkovic this summer.

We can’t see them being too keen on either of those, so expect these talks to continue for some time yet.
