What to Know
Brad Stevens has used his first-round pick in back-to-back years.
The Boston Celtics selected Hugo Gonzalez, a 19-year-old guard from Spain, with the No. 28 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday night.
After the Celtics reportedly traded Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis earlier in the week to get under the second apron of the luxury tax, there was plenty of speculation that Boston would make an additional trade Wednesday to move up or down the draft board.
The C's decided to remain at No. 28, however, with Gonzalez joining 2024 first-round pick Baylor Scheierman (No. 30 overall) as the two first-rounders Boston has selected since Stevens took over as president of basketball operations in 2021.
