Tottenham Hotspur are making big moves in the transfer window. They have appointed Thomas Frank as the new manager. Now, the club wants to provide him with some top players. Amidst this, they are told to sign Chelsea star by their club legend.
Tottenham ended the 2024/25 season on 17th position in the Premier League. But, they were still able to qualify for Champions League. Spurs won Europa League which paved their way to UCL. But, this was not enough for Ange Postecoglou to save his job.
Spurs have appointed Thoms Frank as the new manager. They are now ready to provide him with some top players. In contrast, many players are set to depart. The North London side is set for a major attacking overhaul. Werner has already left whereas both Son and Richarlison are now linked with exit.
Tottenham tipped to sign Chelsea attacker by club legend
The club legend in question here is Steffen Freund. He played for Spurs in between 1998 to 2003. He played 102 games for the North London side. Freund has now asked his former club to sign one attacker from their london rivals.
“Tottenham need another attacking option. I would look at Christopher Nkunku if I were them – he can make the difference. He can play in behind the striker and up front, he is already at Chelsea. He did an outstanding job at RB Leipzig; he is currently underperforming but there is a great player in there. Mathys Tel is a good signing, he can play upfront, and on the wing, he would link up well with Nkunku” – Freund about Nkunku and his quotes via Spurs Web.
Chelsea have already made Nkunku available in the transfer market. The player is keen to move away due to insufficient game time under Enzo Maresca. The Blues signed him for £52 million but are aware that they can’t recoup this amount. Hence, they are ready to accept loss on him. He will be a very good addition to Spurs who will offer him UCL football.
