Wayne Rooney has never been one to shy away from a challenge, having already managed Derby County in administration and Birmingham City in crisis.
Since leaving his role at Plymouth Argyle earlier this year, the Manchester United legend has taken time out from the touchline to focus on punditry.

Rooney has appeared across various outlets including Amazon Prime, serving as a pundit.
He has been maintaining a presence in football while weighing up his next steps.
Despite a mixed managerial record, interest in his services remains high.
Especially from ambitious lower-league clubs.
News circulated on Friday morning that Northern Premier League side Macclesfield made an audacious move to bring Rooney in as manager.
The Englishman was believed to be ‘prime candidate’ for the role.
However according to the PA news agency, the 39-year-old has turned the offer down.
It’s believed Macclesfield contacted his agent Paul Stretford earlier this week.

However after consideration, Rooney opted not to pursue the role.
The club, chaired by Robert Smethurst, has been rising quickly through the non-league pyramid under Robbie Savage.
Savage, who has often featured on TNT Sports as a co-commentator, is reportedly close to joining Forest Green.
PA Media understands he didn’t feel a move to the Silkmen was right at this stage in his career.
Although he maintains respect for the club’s progress and ambitions.
It would’ve certainly come as a shock had he accepted the role to become manager of Macclesfield.
The move would’ve seen Rooney scale down to a lower league, working in lesser conditions in regards to finances and resources.
For now, he’ll embark on his new job in Dubai where he’ll be working with children offering guidance and insight from his playing career.
