Jake Paul's body transformation from his boxing debut to now is simply staggering

Since first stepping foot into a boxing ring in 2018, Jake Paul has had one of the most controversial careers in his history of the sport. From facing former NBA stars and UFC champions, 'The Problem Child' managed to convince legendary heavyweight Mike Tyson to come out of retirement to face him.

The fight itself was branded a farce, but the Netflix-streamed bout drew plenty of attention - and that is something Paul has never struggled to generate. The social media star picked up the victory over a 58-year-old Tyson, meaning that he has now won 11 of his 12 professional contests.

Now one of the biggest active names in the sport, Paul continues his boxing journey on Saturday night against former world middleweight champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Granted, Chavez is well past his prime, but he's still nearly two decades younger than Tyson.

Paul's choices of opposition have not made him popular among boxing purists, but it's tough to argue that he hasn't improved significantly as a fighter over the course of his career. As polarising as he is, Jake has dedicated himself to the sport - and that shows in terms both of his professional record and the eye-opening difference in his physique since taking up the sweet science.

The Huge Difference in Jake Paul's Physique Since His Boxing Debut

'The Problem Child' has transformed his body over the last seven years

Prior to turning pro, Jake made his first public appearance in a ring for a white-collar (amateur) boxing match against fellow YouTuber Deji Olatunji, brother of KSI. An image from the weigh-in before that fight shows Paul almost looking like a different person from the one that will face Chavez on Saturday.

While still in good shape, Paul's frame lacked the muscularity that he would develop later in his boxing career. Also notable is that he was clean-shaven and only had a couple of visible upper-body tattoos, compared to the multitude he has today.

On that day, Paul hit the scales at 181.9 lbs. For his money-spinning fight with Tyson at heavyweight, he gained close to 50 lbs, officially coming in at 227.2 lbs. Sporting a bulky, muscular physique, he cut an imposing figure - even if the action between the ropes wasn't much to get excited about.

Paul won't be able to carry quite so much size into their ring with him when he faces Chavez, as their 10-round contest will take place at the cruiserweight limit of 200 lbs. With that said, images have emerged of his current physique ahead of the fight - and he still looks significantly larger than he did earlier in his career.

The former Disney Channel star has drastically transformed his physique since his first amateur fight. However, the difference is so stark that Chavez Jr recently called Paul a 'drug cheat' during a face-to-face interview to promote their fight.

Paul rubbished the accusations, but it has been reported that neither he or Tyson were tested for the clash last November. VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association), though, is overseeing the testing for Saturday's fight, meaning there shouldn't be similar controversy this time around.
