THE TALE & OUTLOOK
While Fuchs mostly garnered interest from schools closer to his home state of Tennessee, it was a familial connection that brought him to the Nittany Lions. His father, Scott Fuchs, is an assistant offensive line coach for the Tennessee Titans and spent time on Buffalo and Kentucky’s staff with Penn State OC Andy Kotelnicki. Jack told On3 that his mother and Kotelnicki’s wife are very close, which led the Fuchs family to a “mini vacation” in Happy Valley earlier this spring.
Fuchs is super strong and athletic, especially for his age and size. His tape shows impressive speed and quick-twitch agility when getting pulled in run blocks. He looks like Jason Kelce on tape but is built like Jordan Mailata (I’m not saying he projects to be good as either of them). I would not be surprised if he gets bumped up to a four-star after a solid senior season.
Jack Fuchs is the second JF to commit to JF today, as edge rusher Jackson Ford made the call for James Franklin’s Nittany Lions earlier this afternoon. He is now the first player from Tennessee to commit to the Nittany Lions since 247Sports started tracking in 2000.
