Man Utd are trying to offload Jadon Sancho but it looks like he could be heading back to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have a lot of work to do before the end of the transfer window to give Ruben Amorim the players that he needs to see his philosophy become reality.

The Red Devil’s boss inherited a squad that is imbalanced with a mixture of players who are out of form and others who simply don’t want to be at the club.

Marcus Rashford wants to move to Barcelona, however, their move for Nico Williams all but rules that out, and a £70m price-tag for Alejandro Garnacho could see him return to Old Trafford to a frosty reception.

Is Jadon Sancho close to leaving Man Utd?

One player who has seen a different club mentioned as being interested on an almost weekly basis is Jadon Sancho, who was reported to have agreed terms with Napoli, however, last week it appeared the 24-year old would not be heading to Serie A.

After losing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January to Paris Saint Germain, Antonio Conte worked miracles to win another Italian league title but is now looking to add more depth to his winger corps.

A link to Fenerbahce has emerged and the England international’s loan spell at Chelsea last season has shown that there is still a player there.

The problem United find themselves in is that they need to recoup as much of the money that was spent on Sancho as possible so that it can be reinvested. Matheus Cunha has cost £62.5m and Bryan Mbeumo’s transfer fee will be similar too. Players need to be sold if further signings are to be made.

It’s not just the fee that is the problem either, Sancho’s wage is well reported, and he has every right to demand a similar package to leave, whether or not he finds another club willing to match it remains to be seen.

However, while Napoli had targeted Ndoye - other clubs have now entered the fray for the star which could hand United a major boost in trying to offload Sancho as Napoli could return for the forward. Crystal Palace are eyeing a move for Ndoye, per Romano for Give Me Sport while Di Marzio claims Borussia Dortmund are also interested with Jamie Gittens a target for Chelsea.

If either club can beat Napoli to Ndoye - it could put Sancho’s potential move back on.

Sancho shows he is aware of Old Trafford scrutiny

Speaking last season, Sancho is fully aware that he has been virtually written off after leaving Borussia Dortmund to sign for United for over £70m, and speaking to Ian Wright on TNT Sports last season after scoring in a win for Chelsea, explained how he is going to turn the tide: "I know I have a lot of people to prove wrong, and I’m just working hard every day in training.

“When I get my opportunity, I try to show what I can do. Today, I am happy that I scored and helped secure three points for the team.

“Again, I’m just taking it game by game, and hopefully, I can continue this form. I have to say thank you to the whole Chelsea team and the staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play.”
