The [Cleveland Cavaliers](https://cavaliersnation.com/) had two picks in the 2025 NBA Draft but didn’t make a pick until the second and final day of the event on Thursday, as both of the team’s selections were in the second round.
With the No. 49 overall pick, the Cavaliers selected Duke University product Tyrese Proctor. Then, the Cavaliers had the No. 58 overall pick and utilized that selection to take a chance on international prospect Saliou Niang.
In addition to the pair of youngsters the Cavaliers drafted, they’ve made a pair of undrafted free-agent pickups, and without further deliberation, let’s take a look at every one of the Cavaliers’ four new additions so far.
Drafted Players

**Tyrese Proctor (second-round pick)**
With Ty Jerome set to hit unrestricted free agency soon, it was a smart move for the Cavaliers to use their highest pick in the draft on a guard. Tyrese Proctor just recently enjoyed a highly successful junior campaign at Duke University, and he brings to the table what Jerome does in some ways.
Like Jerome, Proctor is a talented 3-point shooter at the guard spot, as he shot 40.5 percent from deep on 5.8 attempts per contest last season. Proctor can make plays for his teammates as well, considering he averaged as many as 3.7 assists per game in a single season with Duke and 3.0 for his collegiate career.
**Saliou Niang (second-round pick)**
Saliou Niang is quite a raw offensive player, as he averaged just 8.1 points per game in Italy’s LBA league last season. He also didn’t show a capable 3-point shot across 30 LBA games in the 2024-25 campaign, considering he shot just 33.3 percent from deep on low volume (0.7 attempts per contest).
But he does have some tools worth getting excited over, including his defensive abilities. The 21-year-old is expected to be stashed by Cleveland overseas, but he could play with the Cavs in Summer League action.
Undrafted Signings

**Chaney Johnson (Exhibit 10 contract)**
Chaney Johnson was an important bench piece for Auburn University last season and averaged 9.1 points per game, but he does have some room for improvement in certain areas.
For one, he’s a very pedestrian facilitator, as he averaged just 1.3 assists compared to 1.1 turnovers per game with the Tigers last season.
Additionally, his 3-point shot is still very much a work in progress. He converted just 28.6 percent of his shots from deep in his two-season span at Auburn and never attempted more than 1.3 3s per game in either of those seasons.
But since he’s a low-risk gamble for the Cavs, there’s a lot to like about Johnson, including the fact that he worked his way from a Division II player to a key piece on a Final Four team, which shows some true grit.
**Norchad Omier (Exhibit 10 contract)**
Folks will be hard-pressed to find a prospect — drafted or undrafted — with better rebounding chops at the height of 6-foot-7 or under than Norchad Omier. Omier was far from the tallest player in all of college basketball last season, yet he led the entire Big 12 in rebounds per contest with a whopping 10.8.
Omier pulled down as many as 12.3 boards per game in a collegiate season (which happened when he was a freshman in the Sun Belt), and he averaged 10.9 rebounds per contest for his college career.
The Cavs newcomer spent five seasons in college, and in every single one of them, he averaged a double-double. Across his five seasons, he averaged 15.3 points per game.
