Real Madrid star expected to miss remainder of Club World Cup

La Liga giants Real Madrid are not expected to have young frontman Endrick at their disposal for the remainder of the club’s campaign at the Club World Cup.

That’s according to Blancos insider Mario Cortegana, who has on Friday provided an update on the Brazilian’s wellbeing.

Endrick has for his part not played a single minute of Real Madrid’s three fixtures at the Club World Cup to date.

As much comes with the 18-year-old still recovering from a hamstring injury suffered over a month ago.

Endrick has in turn remained in Spain’s capital, working on his fitness both at home and at Real’s Valdebebas training base.

As revealed by the aforementioned Mario Cortegana, though, on Saturday, the attacker has been scheduled to link up with the rest of Xabi Alonso’s squad in the USA.

This, however, does not come with a view to Endrick taking part at the Club World Cup, but rather with it deemed ‘important for him to be closer to Xabi Alonso, the new coaching staff and his teammates’.

⚡️Endrick will fly to Miami tomorrow, after weeks working on his recovery at Valdebebas and his home.

The idea is still that he will not play in the Club World Cup, but it is important for him to be closer to Xabi Alonso, the new coaching staff and his teammates.@TheAthleticFC
