So the NBA draft has come and gone yet again, and it got me thinking about what some of the current Oregon players’ pro potential could be. Specifically, I was thinking about how Jackson Shelstad and Nate Bittle will fare if/when they make the jump to the NBA.
Shelstad averaged 13.7 points on 45.1% shooting, while also averaging just under 3 assists and rebounds per game last season. His numbers are very similar to Payton Pritchard’s stats from his sophomore year, but Pritchard scoring took a jump between his sophomore and senior season, jumping from 14.5 points to 20.5 points, leading to him getting drafted 26th overall in 2020.
Bittle, on the other hand, averaged 14.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, and an impressive 2.1 blocks per contest, while shooting a solid 51.1% from the floor. His numbers are pretty similar to Maarty Leunen (15.2 PPG, 9.2 RPG) his final year at Oregon, who ended up getting drafted late in the 2nd round of the 2008 draft.
