Former Indiana men’s basketball center Oumar Ballo will join the Miami Heat for the NBA’s Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald:
As of right now Ballo will join another former Indiana center, Kel’el Ware, on Miami’s Summer League roster. They’ll play alongside a few other former Big Ten talents like Illinois’ Kasparas Jakucionis and Michigan’s Vlad Goldin, per Chiang.
Ballo transferred to Indiana ahead of the 2024-25 season after spending the majority of his collegiate career with Arizona. He was on the Wildcats team that beat the Hoosiers in nonconference play in Las Vegas during the 2022-23 season.
Starting at center, Ballo averaged 13 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 62.3% from the field in 28.9 minutes per game during his lone season with Indiana. He participated in several team workouts ahead of the NBA Draft as well.
