Arsenal have made an initial approach to sign highly rated Brazilian midfielder Breno Bidon from Corinthians, according to reports from Brazil.

The 20-year-old is the latest name on the Gunners’ extensive summer shortlist, with Mikel Arteta overseeing a comprehensive squad rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. While a centre-forward and a winger remain top priorities, Arsenal are actively working to strengthen several positions across the pitch.

Bidon, a central midfielder, has also attracted interest from Wolves, Brighton, and Portuguese giants Sporting CP and Benfica. However, Arsenal are among the clubs to have now made contact over a potential move. According toUOL, Corinthians are open to selling the young talent, with a fee of around £12.8 million likely to be enough to seal a deal as the Brazilian side seek to raise funds.

In defence, the Gunners have entered talks with Valencia over a move for Spain Under-21 international Cristhian Mosquera. An opening bid of around £16 million has been turned down, with the La Liga club holding out for closer to £25 million for the highly rated centre-back, who is seen as ideal cover and competition for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães.

Efforts to bolster the attack continue, with Arsenal exploring deals for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško. However, no agreement has been reached for either player. Sporting are demanding a fee that Arsenal are yet to meet for Gyökeres, while negotiations for Šeško have been complicated by the player’s financial expectations.

A winger also remains high on the Gunners’ agenda, with Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo both under consideration. Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze has also emerged as a potential target as Arsenal look to add more creativity and depth to their frontline.
