The San Antonio came away from the 2025 NBA Draft as big-time winners after selecting Dylan Harper and Carter Bryant in the lottery. After trading their second-round pick to the Indiana Pacers, the Spurs had an uneventful second night of the draft. It wasn’t until after the picks had been made that San Antonio made more moves.
Every year, teams make a frenzy of signings after the draft ends to pick up undrafted free agents. The Spurs signed two college upperclassmen, LSU guard Camryn Carter and USC wing Chibuzo Agbo, to Summer League contracts. They’ll join Harper and Bryant on the summer roster.
Carter is a 4-year college basketball player who suited up for Mississippi State, Kansas State, and LSU. In his senior season, Carter averaged 16.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 steals while shooting 42.5% from the field and 39.2% from three. Carter had his best shooting season of his career last year, as he shot just 30.9% from deep the year prior. At 6-foot-3, Carter is a prototypical high-volume college guard. Carter reportedly worked out with the Spurs before the draft. If you’re a real sicko, you can watch every one of his made shots from this season at this link. (It’s a 48-minute-long video.)
Agbo also worked out with the Spurs pre-draft. He’s a 5-year college wing who started his career with Texas Tech, spent two seasons at Boise State, and finished his career at USC last season. Agbo started 30 games for the Trojans and averaged 11.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1 steal while shooting 41.1% from the field and 39.2% from three. Agbo has been a consistent shooter throughout his career, hitting above 40% from three in the prior two seasons. Agbo has good size for a wing at 6-foot-7.
San Antonio prioritized shooting and scoring in the undrafted FA market. Agbo, Carter, and Bryant should provide floor spacing for Harper on the Summer League roster. It’s safe to assume we’ll also see Harrison Ingram, David Duke Jr., and possibly Riley Minix (pending health) play on the team this year. I’m particularly interested in getting another look at Minix, who looked solid in the preseason and for the Austin Spurs. We should know more about what that full team will look like in the coming days, as San Antonio kicks off its Summer League slate in the California Classic on July 5th.
