Jadon Sancho’s next club is…

Jadon Sancho arrived at Manchester United in 2021 as one of the most exciting young wingers in world football.

After moving to Germany at a young age, he lit up the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund – beating full-backs with ease, providing consistent end product, and showcasing the flair that made him a fan favourite.

Sancho was seen as the long-term solution to United’s right-wing problems.

However, things didn’t go according to plan.

He initially struggled under Ole Gunnar Solskjær and Ralf Rangnick, though United’s broader issues at the time gave him some leeway.

When Erik ten Hag was appointed in 2022, it looked like a fresh start.

The Dutch manager wanted technical, dynamic wingers – and Sancho fit the profile.

But he was often used on the left, with Marcus Rashford cemented in that role and new signing Antony preferred on the right.

As his minutes dwindled, so did his confidence.

Tensions eventually boiled over.

Sancho and Ten Hag clashed publicly over issues including timekeeping and attitude in training.

After refusing to apologise for comments made on social media, he was frozen out of the first team.

A loan move back to Borussia Dortmund in early 2024 offered a brief resurgence.

But rather than selling him that summer, United agreed to another loan deal – this time to Chelsea, with a £25 million obligation to buy.

Following a disappointing season at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea opted to trigger a £5 million escape clause to avoid a permanent deal.

Now, United are back where they started – trying to move on a high-earning player who has failed to deliver.

Sancho remains a gifted footballer and interest from clubs around the world still exists.

But after a dismal four years, where will he go next?

Juventus

Juventus are very interested in signing Jadon Sancho, seeing him as a talented player who could thrive in their system, having switched to a formation with five at the back and two No. 10s.

A setup that suits Sancho’s strengths perfectly.

Interestingly, Ruben Amorim, who also uses a similar system, is not keen on keeping Sancho.

However, the slower pace of Serie A could benefit the winger more than the high-intensity demands of the Premier League.

Sancho is in desperate need of a fresh start and regular game time.

Juventus could offer both.

While the club are prepared to meet Manchester United’s asking price, negotiations are ongoing around Sancho’s wage demands.

Still, if a compromise can be reached, this move could suit all three parties.

Fenerbahce

Reports have also recently linked Sancho with Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Conversations are said to be progressing well, with reports that an agreement is already in place for Sancho to earn a salary of £8.5 million.

Fenerbahce appear willing to meet Sancho’s high wage demands – a major factor in any potential deal that a few other clubs seem unwilling to match.

However, they are still yet to agree a fee with Manchester United, which could become a stumbling block.

Even so, with United desperate to offload the winger, there is hope an agreement could be reached in the coming weeks.

Napoli

Napoli were among the clubs interested in signing Jadon Sancho.

After losing star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January, the Serie A have been exploring replacements – with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho both on their radar.

The Sancho deal initially looked promising.

Napoli appeared willing to match United’s asking price, with only wage negotiations standing in the way of a potential transfer.

However, the situation has now potentially changed.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli have agreed personal terms with PSV Eindhoven winger Noa Lang.

The two clubs are now preparing to negotiate a fee.

This marks a significant shift, as Napoli had been one of the few clubs seriously pursuing Sancho.

With Lang looking set to join, the Sancho deal becomes increasingly unlikely.

Al-Hilal

Given Sancho’s high wage demands, a move to Saudi Arabia remains a realistic fallback option.

Al Hilal and several other Saudi Pro League clubs have shown interest and would be among the few able to afford his salary.

While not the current priority, if no deal is reached elsewhere, a late-window move to Saudi could become a viable solution for both Sancho and Manchester United.
