Monaco get on the phone to Ter Stegen
Today’s rumor round-up starts with Marc-Andre ter Stegen and word that Monaco have been on the phone to talk about the goalkeeper.
According to L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 side have asked about Ter Stegen’s availability as they are keen to bring in a new goalkeeper.
Ter Stegen would be guaranteed the No. 1 spot and Champions League football if he moves, but the word at the moment is still that he’s not leaving.
Cancelo to return to Barcelona?
Joao Cancelo has spoken of his love for Barcelona during the Club World Cup which seems to have stirred some pulses over at the regularly entertaining Fichajes.
Apparently, Deco thinks that Cancelo would be a wonderful signing and negotiations have already taken place about a return for the Portugal international.
The talk is that Barcelona could spend 15 million euros to sign Cancelo, although given the source it’s very difficult to take this one seriously.
Rashford still dreaming of Barca
Over in England, the Guardian reports that Rashford to Barcelona is still very much a possibility even though the Catalans look set to sign Nico Williams and Roony Bardghji.
The report claims Rashford’s versatility appeals to Barca who are still “eyeing a loan move” for the Manchester United outcast.
Rashford currently earns a frankly ridiculous £370,000 a week, and according to the Guardia, while Manchester United would ideally want a loan fee they may have “to accept a deal that involves Barça paying a proportion of his salary.”
