COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Atlanta Falcons Running Back Tyler Allgeier, in partnership with P&G and ProCamps, hosted a youth football camp on Fort Benning on Friday for boys and girls ranging from ages 6 to 14.
Those who attended happened to be dependents of active duty, retirees, and DoD civilian employees.
The event was sponsored by Fort Benning MWR, Commissary, and Exchange, and was held at historic Doughboy Stadium.
During the event, Sports Leader 9 had the opportunity to catch up with the star ‘Dirty Bird’.
“It’s been awesome, man. Seeing all these kids come out. Thank you to the parents and their service to this country. Just being out at this camp, I feel like I’m just being surrounded by great coaches as well. Just having that foundation building that. It’s just building blocks, man. So I think we’re all just trying to get to that peak of the tower. It’s just the building blocks and setting the foundation for these kids,” Allgeier said.
Allgeier and the Falcons will kick off preseason play on August 8th against the Detroit Lions.
