The contract includes a player option in the final year.
> Reid declined a $15 million player option for next season and chose to stay with Minnesota despite a vibrant market developing of teams interested with similar money but with starting roles.
Reid, 25, won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2024. This past season, the big man averaged a career-high 14.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game through 80 appearances. He also shot 37.9% from behind the 3-point line.
The Timberwolves finished the regular season with a 49-33 record, good enough for the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. Minnesota advanced to the Conference Finals, but got knocked out in five games by the Oklahoma City Thunder, the eventual NBA Champions.
