International music legend Diana Ross is making her grand return to the city next week. The Grammy-award winning grandmother of disco and sou lands in Liverpool as part of her self titled tour world tour.

Over a career that spans more than half a century, Diana has released 27 Top 40 singles, earning a Guinness World Record as the most successful female artist of all time. The last time Diana visited Liverpool she brought thousands of fans to a standstill.

Diana was originally due to perform in the city back in 2020, but like many artists, her tour was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rescheduling the tour for 2022, her set at the M&S Bank Arena opened with 'I’m Coming Out' – a collaboration with Chic’s Nile Rodgers, followed by a selection of hits by The Supremes.

The vocal powerhouse delivered banger after banger, keeping old and new fans alike engaged and in a frenzy. The setlist included hits such as 'Can’t Hurry Love', 'Stop in the Name of Love' and 'Baby Love' which had everyone up on their feet, many no doubt reliving the days of Motown.

The same year, she delivered televised performances at Buckingham Palace for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee and the Legend’s Slot at Glastonbury Festival’s Pyramid Stage.

Diana's current tour marks her first return to the UK since her 2023 performance at The Royal Albert Hall for The Music Legacy Tour. The city has enjoyed a massive month of music which Diana will bring to a close in sparkling, glittery fashion.

Anfield Stadium recruits global superstars to perform to a sea of thousands. This year's heavy hitters included Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band who kicked off the season with shows on June 4 and 9.

'The Boss' singer was followed by pop star Dua Lipa performing back to back shows on June 24 and 25. Anfield's musical showcase will come to a close at the hands of indie songstress Lana Del Rey on June 28.

On The Waterfront returned to the Pier Head with four days of back-to-back music. Local band The Wombats kicked off proceedings followed by The Wolfe Tones for their final ever UK performance, Cream Classical, who got thousands jumping, and music heavyweight sting bringing the festival to a close.

June's mega month of music will come to a close with Diana Ross at the M&S Bank Arena and I think we're in for a hell of a show. Take a sneak peek at the setlist below.
