Manchester United's summer transfer business is kicking into gear as the club's pre-season return on July 7 edges closer. Matheus Cunha is in, Bryan Mbeumo is imminent, and three more could follow (depending on player sales).
Ruben Amorim reportedly wants a new striker, midfielder and goalkeeper after Mbeumo's arrival, with several players in the shop window to generate the required funds. However, United are said to have a £34million bid ready for the first of that trifecta of additions.
Read on to explore what Amorim's strongest team could look like next season if - let's be honest, by some miracle - the remainder of his transfer window goes as planned...
GK: Marco Carnesecchi / Altay Bayindir
United are reportedly ready to offer Atalanta £34m to sign Marco Carnessechi after identifying the 24-year-old as an ideal Andre Onana replacement.
However, the Serie A club will demand between £38m and £45m to part ways with Carnessechi, and any swoop depends on Onana accepting an exit.
RCB: Leny Yoro / Noussair Mazraoui
Leny Yoro grew from strength to strength in his debut season in England and should play a prominent role next term.
CCB: Matthijs de Ligt / Harry Maguire
Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire are expected to share the role of United's central defensive general.
LCB: Lisandro Martinez / Ayden Heaven
Lisandro Martinez will be a welcome returnee once he has recovered from his long-term injury. In the meantime, Ayden Heaven could be in store for more minutes.
RWB: Amad / Diogo Dalot
Amad looks set for more games at right-wing-back next season, given United's attack-focused start to the summer transfer window.
CM: Felix Nmecha / Manuel Ugarte
The Red Devils are reportedly interested in Borussia Dortmund's Felix Nmecha as Amorim targets an energetic midfielder.
Previous reports have claimed the Bundesliga giants value Nmecha, 24, at around £42m.
CM: Bruno Fernandes / Kobbie Mainoo
Bruno Fernandes, like Amad, will operate slightly deeper next term due to United's new arrivals in attack.
LWB: Patrick Dorgu / Luke Shaw
Patrick Dorgu experienced a mixed start as a United player after his January switch from Lecce. He will have a big part to play.

RAM: Bryan Mbeumo / Joshua Zirkzee
Mbeumo scored 20 Premier League goals last season, almost half of United's meagre 44 tally. Amorim will hope he can do the same at Old Trafford.
LAM: Matheus Cunha / Mason Mount
Cunha was the first signing of the summer, joining from Wolves in a £62.5m deal. Like Mbeumo, he should represent a significant upgrade.
ST: Viktor Gyokeres / Rasmus Hojlund
Viktor Gyokeres had informed United that he preferred a switch to Arsenal due to their Champions League status.
However, the 27-year-old has reportedly softened his stance as Mikel Arteta targets RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and informed Amorim a reunion could be back on.
